Help on generator
I notice that a lot of MOC have a Honda 2000 gen. I am looking to buy a generator for our 2007 3400RL. What are you using the Honda 2000 for and how are you connecting it to the Monty. Can you reduce the 50 amp plug down to 3 prong plug. Can you connect the gen to the outside receptacle and feed it through the panel box. We stop at Wal-Marts and shopping centers when traveling from point A-B. Just need something for lights - TV - Microwave - Coffer Maker -- not all at one time. Can you help? How about the Honda EU3000.
Thanks in advance

Hi Pokypa,
Yes you can reduce your 50 amp plug right down to a standard 3 prong household plug. go to www.camperworld.com and you will find adapter cords already made up. We use a Honda EM3000CC, it works good for us and even runs the A/C with no problem. A little bit louder then the EU3000 but a heck of a lot lighter. 68 lbs dry. heres what it looks like.

We have a Honda EU3000i and it runs everything just fine, even the air conditioner. I'm careful about not trying to run too many things at once, and haven't had any problems. The only thing I don't like about it is the weight. At about 130 lbs, it's a bit much for one person, but with some help, I've been able to manage. I carry it in the back of the truck and have a waterproof cover for the generator to protect it from the weather. You can find the appropriate adapters at any RV store, or from your Honda dealer

J&D,
Do you use your Honda as an emergency backup generator for those beautiful Christmas Lights? Be a shame to have those go dark in a power outage.

Hi Brad,
What you see was only 2/3s of the lights. I'm not sure the Honda would have run them all. Always enjoyed putting them up, but going to take a break from it this year. At least the snow in the other picture has melted. Just about time to hook up and go on a little trip.

We have two EU2000i's with the parallel kit so that I can gang them together and get about 30 amps. I use a 50 amp to 30 amp pig tail from Camping World and plug into one of the Hondas.
I use one when just TV, Micro and lights need power, two when I am running Tv, lights and A/C. One will run one A/C and TV; Micro and TV; 2 will run one A/C, micro, TV and even the vacuum.
