Holding tanks
We want to buy our first Montana and like the size and layout of the 3000RK. If any of you have this model, can you tell us exactly where the holding tanks are positioned beneath the vehicle?? Also... how do you like your 3000RK?? Would you recommend it to others and is there anything on/in it you did not like or especially did like?? We would not be living in it full-time but would be taking it to Alaska, etc. Thanks.

Welcome to the forum, judyann54.
While we do not have a 3000RK, our next door neighbor has one and by looking at the dump handles it appears that the galley tank is in the rear near the stabilizer jack, the gray and black are in their "normal" position below the floor in the basement (front).

Have early '08 3000RK, agree with snfexpress about tanks. Drain handle for rear galley tank is also under the rear, separate from gray and black handles in the basement. I agree with most who say rear kitchen is not much of a bouncing problem, but going to Alaska ?? Not able to get to kitchen or refer with slide in is a little more of a pain then I thought it would be, but you can turn the table or perhaps a new model would have the table that turns. I would recommend the 3000RK. Would also recommend a air ride pin box, we have a 5th Airborne. Put a safety catch on the drawer under the frig first thing!

We do not have a 3000RK. We have a 3650RK and love it. We live in Alaska. Have you been here before? Have you driven the Alcan? It bounces. There are tons of frost heaves. If you make the trip, when you see small orange flags on the side of the road that means warning! Frost heave. Slow down! We have had no problems with the bounce in the kitchen. But we haven't taken her down the Alcan yet!

We have had the 3000RK for a year and a half, and about 10,000 miles and the DW still loves it. You do have more movement in the rear kitchen but the DW said she learned how to secure everything and now would not give up her kitchen. Lots of room, and lots of counter space.

I have an 08 3000RK and have not been out in it yet. I believe the gray and black tanks are under the basement, won't know for sure until I take the belly down, But yes the galley is at the back and also the pull station for that tank.
