aluminum black water handle

My black water handle wore through and broke off when pulled open. Does anyone know if the aluminum handle is separate from the gate valve, or all one piece? I'm hoping the handle screws on and can easily be replaced.

The handle, rod and gate valve are all separate. The rod unscrewed from my black tank going down the road and fell out. I picked up a new rod and handle at my local RV dealer. Valterra is a common manufacturer for these parts.

My galley handle did the same thing. I had to drop the bottom pan to remove the remaining stub and install the replacement. When I did I found that the hole wasn't in line with the handle rod which caused the rod to rub and wear through. To prevent it from happening again I drilled out the hole to 5/8ths and put a rubber grommet in the hole. Now the replacement rod hasn't a metal surface to rub against and is also in line with the hole. Keystone would do everyone a favor if they would do the same thing. I am keeping a close eye on the other two rods.
