Outdoor Shower Hose Disconnect

Hello, any suggestions on how to remove the outside shower hose from the quick connect fitting? I have tried to push and pull and it will not come off.

Will the disconnect sleeve slide back? Sometimes it helps if there's no pressure in the hose. Then again, sometimes pressure will help to free it from the disconnect. You've probably got it off already as I post this reply

Maybe spray with liquid wrench or WD40

Try pushing in on the hose section before pushing the quick disconnect sleeve back. I've had problems with both water and air quick disconnects and lubing with silicone spray helps especially after you get the connection separated. Let us know if your efforts were successful after church.

Have had the same problem with mine. Sometimes just takes s little extra "persuasion". Lubing does help once you finally get it off the first time. Replacdment is probably the ultimate solution.

Thanks everyone,
Anyone have a suggestions on where to find a replacement fitting that will work with the same hose?

It might be easier to install a male threaded hose fitting in place of the quick disconnect, and then replace the end on the hose with a female hose fitting. That way, you never have a problem with a quick disconnect, and you can also use any hose on that faucet.

I have never had a need to remove mine. What is your purpose for removing?

The quick connect fittings are replaceable if yours is bad. The best place I've found to get them and other accessories is from the people that made them. My son has a habit of not turning off the water completely and removing the hose, thus creating a fluid lock behind the valve. To release that, all I do is take a phillips head screwdriver and place it in the opening and hit the top of the driver with my hand to release the pressure and all is well again.
Here is the link for the company I'm talking about.

The reason I wanted to remove it was because of the clutter around the pull valves. Might be an OCD thing. I had disconnected it last October and when we were parked at friends I re-attached it. Since then I have not been able to remove it.

Hello WeBeFullTime,
I guess I wanted to remove the clutter in the hookup area. Only use the hose if I am showering outside once or twice a year.
Thanks,
Kevin

I can't get my disconnect on! I found this thread looking for a solution. It appears some lube might be the same answer or just retrofit the SOB.
