Axles are cheaper than a new 5th wheel. I see all these new RV's and love how modern they are with all the bells and whistles. easy to level up with a push of a button. Then I look at my 03 with faded decals and pink slip in my pocket and the decision is simple keep the bird in my hand. LOL Only thing I don't like about mine is the recliners. i am looking to fix that problem pretty soon. I have fixed almost every problem I have had with mine.

You are probably right but I did just buy a 2015 Cougar 313RLI. It's not as fancy as the Montana, I hope I don't regret it.

IMO the entire suspension on these things are the weakest thing on the RV. We went to the Mor Ryde IS on both our 06 3400 and our 13 3402 within 6 months of purchase and before we went on any long road trip. We are long timers and do a lot of road miles.

I agree, I was entertaining the idea of a new one, and just couldn't pull the trigger. Yes bells ,and whistles, but not much if any improvement in overall quality. Level up would be nice, but if I needed it that bad, I would get it put on. Double fridge is the only thing I envy on the newer units.

If you have comprehensive insurance, your insurance company may reimburse you l was the deductible.
I have had breakage and let them know it was not due to a collision and they reimbursed me less th e $500 deductible, no points for this type of claim.

Check for recalls on the axle problem.

Axle is made of too thin material. Even if there was another problem iI would expect the axle to hold up .

That axle wall looks about thick as a toilet paper roll!!! Can you imagine if you had been going down the interstate at 70-75 mph??

After seeing people talking about the More Ryde system I went out a checked our rig which we bought 3 months ago used--it already has the Mor Ryde 3000 system with what I think are the 'wet bolts" The bolts have little grease fitting on the end?? Is this standard on Montana's or did we just get lucky?? We have a 20183811. Thanks

The insurance adjuster would not cover the axle, said it was mechanical. He did cover a new tire and the damage down the side, came out to $1,867.00 minus $62.50 dollar deductible.

He should have covered it under trip interruption on the comprehensive. I use Farmers covered by Century for the 5er. Covered 3 incidents less the deductible. It was $1k and just changed it to $500. Check your coverage again.

Our 2013 295RKD has the Morryde CRE3000 system on it. We purchased it from a dealer last year. With all the talk of loose bolts and axle problems, I decided to check mine, with a torque wrench. Surprise! I got about 3/4 of a turn on one of the spring shackle bolts. All the rest were at specification. Thanks for the information from the forum!

Speaking of trip interruption I put in for my missed camping trip that I paid for which was denied today because they said I wasn't more than 50 miles away from home where I broke down. They always seem to have a way to weasel out of paying.
