A/C not keeping up

Our A/C is not keeping up. Realize we live in Texas but all our surrounding RVers are freezing in their units. Anyone else experiencing this? Anything we should be looking at?

It helps to keep all the blinds closed and start cooling early in the morning before it gets to hot, and run both a/c's at the same temp.

You want to tell folks what year and model your camper is. It will help folks answer your question.

If you have the Whisper Quiet AC system you need to check the threads on AC issues. Basically it's common to have the AC ducts collapse and block air flow. Most of us have inserted 1 1/2" pvc pipe in the return air vents to fix that. Many have also taken out the supply vents and cut them down so they don't block the ducts. One thing, no matter what AC you have, is to keep your filters clean. The filters are under the return air ducts and in our case (Kansas and 100 degree days) they are filthy after two weeks.

I would first visit one of those RV's that are freezing their occupants and see what they have or are doing to keep the Rv very cold.

There are many things to consider outside temp and humidity, color of your RV. Put a digital thermometer at the A/C output duct and see what the temp of the air is coming out and if there is adequate airflow. The output air should be in the 50's'You may have a problem as described above.Do you have one or two A/C's are you on 30 or 50 amp service.

In Oklahoma and Texas with temps well over 100 degrees our two A/C's had trouble "keeping up" but still cooled to a comfortable level. They sure did not freeze us out. If your neighbors are freezing and you are not comfortable there is a problem.
