Norcold 2118 door seal

I found the door seals have "collapsed" in a couple of places, thus not sealing completely. Are there any tricks to reshape the seal to original shape? It appears that the seals are sold as part of a door assembly, not as individual seals.

On a related issue, on the exterior slide behind the frige are two vents. They are exactly the same design. They are designed to allow air to enter and flow upward. That is fine for the lower vent but is backwards for proper airflow on the upper one. I am going to affix a fan to the upper vent to draw out the hot air. These refers may work properly as designed but not as installed.

Since it's a 2018 why not have the company replace it?

It is a model 2118, the large Norcold. The trailer is a 2016 3160.

Sorry I was looking at the post date. Great grand daughter born today so I've been up since 3am. That said, here is one thing I've seen recommended online: Repair a deformed but otherwise sound gasket corner or gasket section by wiping off any dirt or mold from the surfaces and folds. Heat the deformed section with a hair dryer until the gasket is warm and pliable. Gently pull on the warmed gasket to restore its shape. Allow to cool. If this repair doesn’t restore the gasket, you will have to replace it.

I strongly suggest adding exhaust fans in the upper vent and inlet fans below if you are having trouble keeping your 2118 below 40 deg. That has helped mine.

Haven't pulled the trailer out of storage yet to try it.

I tried it out yesterday. It seemed to do the trick. I'll check again in a few days to make sure it did not relax back into the "bad" position.

Don't change the positioning of the vents, or the next time it rains, you will have a water issue inside the slide. Air will still flow out of the upper vent just fine the way it is. I have an ARP device installed on our fridge with the extra fans, and the lower fan points up, and the discharge of the upper fan points down, out of the vent. Any extra fans will be an improvement, especially when it is hot outside.

Yes, I figured the vent was designed to let air in and keep water out. However, I feel that they should design an upper vent better suited for exiting hot air and keeping things dry.

Helen found a way to make the "door seal" issue much better. I have no idea how to explain it but when she gets done doing things in the kitchen she will get on here and explain it.
