Waterleak from cold air return after heavy rain

The other night (2:45 AM) a heavy rain poured water in thru the cold air return which happens to be over the bed in rear of unit.It is a High Country 2016, HM375FL. Thought I had repair done by local repair shop and had no problems until a heavy rain hit us. The repair was, tighten bolts and install sealant around them and around the seal itself. Currently covered by the proverbial blue tarp. Has anyone had this problem???? What was the fix??? I am going to go to Camping World Nashville later this month for the warranty repair. It just bugs me that this could happen.

Thanks for the replies.
Joe

We had this happen to our main ac in the living area. The dealer discovered that the ac was installed crooked over the roof opening. They reinstalled it correctly by centering it sealing the old holes and drilling new ones. We have a 2015 3582 model. Good luck, leaks are a pain.

Dometic? The newly introduced model (not the penguin or BriskII), believe blizzard? Has a design fault with the outside cover which can allow outside water to seep in. Make sure your dealer checks for that. Failing that, the gasket between the AC and the roof would be a likely source. If it was installed incorrectly and pinched/deformed in the process, tightening may not work and a new seal/ gasket may be required.

Sorry about the delay in my response. Been working Amazon in KY. Not much time. Now that it is over headed to Camping World Tuesday for the repair. Then Southbound for the winter.

Read the good report by bowlesj here. http://www.montanaowners.com/forums/...16&whichpage=2

I have the same problem with the blizzard and it only happens with the AC running.
