Thank God for our BIG/FAT trucks!

We were sitting at the corner stop sign this afternoon when a car came around to fast and couldn't make the turn. Well you can guess what happened next; but that big/fat truck that we complain about when we are trying to park it at Walmarts kept us safe. Looks like we will be staying in Florida a little longer.

I hear you. We were once rearended by a full size Chevy 1500 extended cab doing 60 miles per hour. Our truck bed folded up some, and we got rocked. But walked away and was even able to tow the fiver home with the wrecked truck. Got home, collected the insurance, dealt the truck off to a body shop, and went and bought a new one.

It is good to hear that you all were not injured. Hope the truck gets fixed quickly so you can get back to enjoying your retirement in the style you are accustomed to.

Thank you everyone. If she had hit the car in front of us there would have been some serious injuries (she was able to move just in time). Glad she hit the big/fat truck instead. No one was hurt and I'm very greatfull for that.

We were at the dealer today and went over the parts list and repairs needed. Good thing is no body damage. All mechanical. Many coolers damaged and a little frame damage. Only bumper needs painted. Should be done by end of the week (hopefully). A little over $4000 damage. Parts are expensive. Her insurance is covering everything, including our rental, I hope.

Good news on the repairs! I can tell you repairs are not cheap! I had a problem with my lift trailer that jack-knifed on me while I was backing and it was so quick that I couldn't stop will the damage had happened already! New bumper, new outer box side and several other items coming to a tally of $3500+. I'm not a happy camper because there is no insurance to pay for it unless I turn it into mine and that means higher rates down the line! Live an learn, I guess! Just glad everyone in your family is OK!

We were so glad to hear that you three came away from the accident unhurt. That IS the most important thing. Since it is still pretty cold in Michigan - enjoy your unexpected extra days in the warmth and sunshine. Miss you guys after such a fun few months together in Fla.

Well, we're still in FL. Hey Ozz, we miss our truck too. Dealer has all the parts he ordered but they found a transmission line that is damaged and needs to be replaced. Nobody has one. Sooooo we sit and wait until after the holiday to get one from TN. Looks like we'll be here another week or maybe a little less, yeah right.
