Fall Rally at Elkhart Fairgrounds?
Is the group still planning on a Fall Rally at Elkhart Fairgrounds in September? Rumors are that it was cancelled. Can someone "in the know" please clarify?

Last I heard it was scheduled (tentatively) for Sept 19th - 25th.

I heard it today from the Director of the Escapees RV Club Fall Escapade scheduled for Elkhart County Fairgrounds the week of September 9-14. He told me today that the Fairgrounds told him that the Montana group had canceled. Being a member of the Escapees RV Club, we had tentatively planned on being at both events. Otherwise we will make other plans.
Rumors are rumors and I'm either trying to squelch this one or confirm it. Maybe whoever is in charge of the Montana event can let us know.

Update!!!Update!!! Rumor put to rest!!!
I just called the Elkhart County Fairgrounds Office. The Montana Rally has not been canceled. It is scheduled for September 16-23. I am now going to round up the Fall Escapade Director and tell him that he's putting out bad information.
The fairgrounds person told me they have the Escapees scheduled for September 9-14, Montana Rally scheduled for September 16-23, and Travel Supreme Rally scheduled for September 23-29.
I'm sorry if I alarmed anyone but I wanted to know myself because if we are at the Escapade, we want to stay for the Montana Rally since we've heard so many good things about it.

That Travel Supreme rally seems pretty close to the last day of our rally. I hope they give us time to pull out and not hurry us, things happen when they do that! When you have a routine to go by, I like to have time to do it without being rushed! Will now put those dates in my book for Sept.!

Just as long as we don't have to use that stupid back dirt road again (maybe they'll pave it???). Think I still have some of that mud somewhere on my GMC...

Dave,
LOL! Come on, you know you enjoyed the detour around the horse track... =) Might I suggest a car wash to help remove any of last years mud... Or just keep driving through all those Florida rain storms, that should help remove that caked on mud. lol!

Yes! but they are all at the back, so you need a long sewer hose.

Rich, we had the same problem until Vicki started keeping notes on every rv park we visit. Now I ask her for the info so I can post answers in the forum.
The Elkhart County Fairgrounds does have full hookups but at the back as OntMont said. Just as important, though, is they have frequent and loud trains closeby.

We are so spoiled.. We need to have full hookups.. keeping a record is a good idea. I will try to talk Helen into doing that.We both have ear plugs as a lot of C,G's are near railroad tracks, interstates or in many cases both. Of course the one we have tched in our memory banks is the Abilene,Tx KOA off I-10 where B-1 bombers fly through the campground.

Good grief, Bert!
I looked at that web site and it showed a journal with a pen lying on it.
I've forgotten how to write, since I've been in data processing (IT) for 47 years. I can "tickle the keyboard" but can't "push the pen" any more - lol.
I can't live day-to-day without the keyboard any more. I'll have to get a computerized journal.
Thanks for the posting anyway. I'm sure it will come in handy for those who are "prostitute typers" (hunt-'n-peckers).
Keep smiling.
Larry

Oh yes, those wonderful trains that rolled passed the Elkhart Fairgrounds.... Were they every 10 or 15 minutes? I forget. LOL!
