2007 GMC duramax not to be found

We just spent the morning. driving thru a blizzard, at our GMC dealer. Two weeks ago GM stopped production on the 2007 GMC with duramax engine. Couldn't order one. Can't order the 2008 until May. They are making changes to the engine. Delivery would be in August.
Now we are going to look at a 3485SA tomorrow but nothing to pull it with. They did a 350 mile search.
Maybe we won't like the 3485SA

Chuck and Carol, Sorry, I don't understand. Is there a prob with your '05 Jimmy or do you just want to trade it in for something newer? Seems you have a perfectly good tow vehicle already...

Carol and Chuck,

Try www.chevrolet.com or www.GM.com and then locate vehicle.

You put in your zip code and then you can check the inventories of all of the dealers in your area.

I ran the Chitteango zip code and found 2007 Classic 3500 Duramax at dealerships in:
Syracuse
East Syracuse
Liverpool
Oneida
And pages more.

We did something stupid last year. Trying to fix it. Every dealer we have talked to this afternoon has said the same thing. No diesel Duramax in this area.
Hopefully we get to see the 3485SA tomorrow if the Thruway is open. Then we will go from there.
This happened to us before. Had a fifth wheel and no truck. But this year we have time. With what is going on outside, I don't think we will be going anywhere any time soon.

Chuck and Carol Right. No changes in the Engine or Transmisson, but body and other things like frame are changing. Go to this website and you'll see the "Newer" trucks listed as 2008.

http://eogld.ecomm.gm.com/

As i'm told it was a model change shut down by the truck plants to produce the much newer model with all the changes. GM would not let Dealers take new orders till Feb 8 2007 with delivery being about 6 weeks.
Then again, throw cash on the table and see how fast the salesman will either order or find you a newer one.

There are plenty of 2007 Classics still left out here on the west coast! If your willing to travel to get one, might I suggest Dave Smith Motors in Kellogg, ID. They sell at factory invoice plus $250. They will save you thousands, and I do mean thousands off of sticker. Between myself and family members we have bought 7 GM vehicles from them in the past 6 years. A great place to do business with. I will be more than happy to get you connected with them if you would like... Let me know.

Hour 4 and still no luck. These dealers don't know a 3/4 ton from a 1 ton and don't know about hauling 5th wheels. They need to go to school.
Selected dealers are getting the revised duramax. Of course in our area we have no "selected" dealers.
If we lived somewhere besides NY the fifth wheel would be cheaper too.

Carol

We may be SOB for a while.

Dave, As you may or may not know, vehicles in Anchorage are at a premium. Quite a few folks buy in WA, fly down and drive back. I have heard the savings is phenomenal. I was lucky and did not have to do this (did not buy new), however, if I lived in lower 48 and needed a new truck, I would definitely take you up on your offer. Heck, when I leave Alaska this summer, if I find I do need a newer truck, I will be looking for you.

Chuck, it goes to show you if you want the best, you may have to wait. If you want second, like Williamcollier suggest, then look for a Ford or whatever! Sorry Bill, had to get that in there!

I am not allowed to even suggest a Ford. Although this may be something new in Chuck's life this year. First we try Dodge's. We are now getting desperate.

Chuck and Carol;
There are about 7 Chevy 1 ton lwb 4x4 duallies d/a trucks in Albany if you are interested. Denooyer Chevy zip 12205, and DePaula Chevy 12206. Looks like they are pretty well loaded. If you are interested. Punch in the two zip codes and you can view the stickers. I know it's a long way but they may have what you want.

Chuck and Carol: What is wrong with the 3670RL? Thought you liked the big layout.

We did something stupid last summer. We became SOB. Now we are trying to rectify the whole mess. We have the 3485SA if we can find a truck. Does that give you a hint as to what we did????? Something that doesn't need a truck Anyway, our car dealer here in town found one but it would cost an arm and a leg. I haven't even paid all my Moms bills yet. So we are trying to find a good deal and what we want. If we aren't happy with this ---- the back to motels

Carol

We really miss a truck. Always have had one.

Don't tell me you got rid of the truck and 3670RL for "another" motorhome.

Bill --- you devil you guessed.
Trying to undo our 4 hours of stupidity. So far half way there.
Next year hope to be out of NY and into some warmer weather this time of year.
Chuck is now looking at Dodges. He knows what he wants and won't settle for anything else.
