An Ozz moment?
We got done painting yesterday afternoon and decided to go up to the top of the Sandia mountains and look down on Albuquerque. It takes about an hour and a half to drive up there because you have to go around to the backside of the mountains and then take a typical mountain road to the top. We got up there and just started looking around when two young ladies and their dog came out of a trail head looking tired. They offered to pay us if we took them back down to the front side of the mountain and back to their car. Turned out they had hiked up the face of the mountain and now were exhausted, one was having some minor altitude issues and the dog had had enough and would have to go back in someone's pack and on top of it all it would be dark before they got back down. We said sure and when we were done looking around took them to their car (about 2 hours). They couldn't believe we would do it and refuse any money. We explained RV folks are like that, besides it wasn't hugely out of our way and we got to see the mountains from another view. They were still surprised that "in this day" someone would readily help them. I was concerned they were wandering the mountain on their own. Turned out they were prison guards from a male prison in Austin, Tx on vacation. So we were both surprised.

OZZ's comments aside has anybody else seen prison busses- usually white with barred and tinted windows on the road? I think that it must be a outing for the inmates or something

Yep, I saw one here on the 10. They convey them to court, from court, work details for trustees, transfers to other prisons or Jails and occasionally to Bingo...

It is always fun to help. You get more out of it than they do. Several years ago I was pulling my camper over a mountain here in Virginia with my 1980 Chevy truck when it started to over heat. I pulled over and a young woman with her baby stopped to help. I didn't need any help but I thought that was such a nice thing for her to do.
