Tom-- My 2980 has a shutoff at the hot water heater to bypass it and also a shutoff with a hose on it at the water pump. I turn both of them off and stick the hose into the gallon of RV anti-freeze and then go and turn on each faucet (cold and hot- one at a time) separately until the pink stuff comes out. It usually takes about 1 1/2 to 2 1/2 gallons for mine! I blow my lines out first using an adapter I purchased at Camper World. It just screws on the city water hookup and I use the compressor to blow the lines out then use the pink stuff as discribed above. If you have an outdoor shower don't forget to run the pink stuff thru that also. I dump just enough pink stuff into each tank to keep them from freezing(A pint or so) (You can never get ALL of the water out and that protects them.) I also dump pink stuff down each drain into the traps so that water doesn't freeze. If you have a blacktank cleanout or washout as I do I also put the blowout cap in it and push enough air thru it to get the water out of that line also. In most cases, you can look underneath in the basement and see that the lines are all pink. The only one I don't put RV antifreeze in is the blacktank washout line and that's because I haven't figured out how to get it in it unless I use a funnel and just pour it in. IF I'm not mistaken, if you go into the archives by using the search engine and key in winterizing you'll find several threads on this subject. Good luck and hope all goes well for you!
