Risky business.........

The picture is of a guy's rig that pulled in next to us.
I don't think he ran this by a structural engineer........
Risky business indeed.

I've been known to do some pretty hairy things, but I wouldn't even think about doing that! What has he got the yellow strap hooked to anyway, the window frame??

I'd watch him close and stay off the road when he is on it!
Happy trails.....................

oaky, I hope he doesnt need that window the strap is hooked to.
I think this should be the start of the craziest things we have hauled, pulled, or loaded. I've got some pretty good ones too. In montana they will let almost anything on the road. Steve

Yea, Lonnie. Crazy!
Steve, I have seen some strange ones driving down the road, but my digital camera is too poky to get a picture.

It would have to be really BIG Wrenchtraveller, I wouldn't want to get close enough to read anything smaller than 12" letters LOL.
IMO, that's way worse than the TRAINS some of us pull around.

Lonnie,

I have been told, and have seen it on several websites that it is not legal to triple tow - pull 2 trailers in tandem - in New Mexico.

Is it legal there? I am in Texas, and have seen several websites that say its also illegal in Texas, but I know it is legal in Texas.

I have a MC trailer that I would like to pull into Colorado (thru NM)behind my 3400. Is it legal in NM?

If you were to question that guy, I know what he'd say, "Been doing it for years, never had a problem."

Rick, did you get the info you were after? I replied to your PM and Blue posted a link to a really good web site. According to that site it is legal in NM as long as length is not over 65', same as Tx.

CRAZY!! Just shows it takes all kinds to make the world go round?

Should have ran the yellow strap through the door and out the drives side window of the trailer then wrap the 4X4 LOL. The red strap just adds more down-ward stress to the frame!

Dennis, that is what he did! When he came in the Yellow strap was ran inside one window, and out the other side....
And, he's headed to Montana to hunt.

Thanks all for the info.

I will print out the wecamp2 info and show it to the cops if we get stopped - I hope we never do.

Interestingly, according to this list:

Max trailer length in Lousiana is 30'
Max trailer length in Massachusetts is 33'
Max trailer length in S. Carolina is 35'

I guess I can't tow the 3400 to any of the above! ? Sometimes I wonder about the info on the Internet.

Could you ask him where in Montana he is headed so that I can get my kids and friends off the streets? I think I should call the news stations and advise them he is coming so that they can put out an alert over the TV. Like so many have said, Montana will let just about anything on the streets but I don't think I have ever seen anything like that! Doesn't look like anything I would want hanging off the back of my trailer!

Just came back from my local dealer talking about bike bumper hitches. Said they had a Cougar come in with frame damage that had a 250 lb generator hanging off the back.. Warranty was refused.
