North 97 outside of Madras, OR
As we were leaving Madras OR driving N on hwy 97 there is a newer Montana driving on the road ahead of us that we can’t seem to catch up to. It is I think a maroonish colored truck pulling it? Mel says is must be a diesel rig cause if it were a gasser he would have caught up to them awhile back Ha Ha. We also noticed that the dark blue or black car directly behind them wants to crawl up the bumper? They are a little bit closer now. The little car has passed them and we are right behind them climbing up the mountain. Well now we seem to be on more level ground and have almost caught up to them. Maybe they will stop at the rest area? Nope, off they go past it. Oh well, maybe we can catch them later? At the 97 junction we were able to see that they have WA. State license plates. Would like to meet ya if we could ever catch ya!!!

Actually, we did finally catch up to them at the jct 97, and they didn't look like they might be a MOCer as they saw us wave, but we got no response back. So yes, we did catch them. I was just trying real hard not to say "maybe someone has a bit of a leadfoot?"

You should have given us a shout - you drove right by our house if you came up 97 from South of Lapine - Did you run into rain today or lightening/Thunder? Weatherman around here is OTL - can't seem to forecast - friends said they ran into all kinds of negative weather - just curious - safe journey... Was great joining you for Girls Day Out in Mt. Shasta

Darn, We could have stopped as we were in no hurry. but we will be using that route often, as we plan on staying in Eastern Wa more often than Western WA during the summer months. We are now staying at the Wenatchee River County Park in Monitor WA. and will be here for the next 3 wks or so. Sorry we missed you all. We will catch you next time. (I just have to remember to put you into my travel log, or I'll forget next time too.)
Mike & Evy, we actually like to stay in LaPine While we commute down to Yuma. We'll probably see you in Sept. Also, the weather was not too bad going thru LaPine, just a little bit wet. Take Care.
