Since the circuit is only energized when the switch is actuated, an auto reset breaker is fine. The OEM breakers are auto reset. If it were a continuously energized circuit I would opt for a manual reset. Either will work.

Just installed the Bussmann 80 amp manual reset breaker in a Friends Monty last week. Just had to enlarge the hole in the lugs. No problem as there was plenty of material in the lugs.

I must have missed the original discussion. Can someone bring me up to date on why I should replace the 50 amp fuse with the 80amp fuses shown in the two photos above.
I'm hitting the road soon and want to prepared.
Thanks in advance.

Well it is sorta your choice until you find out the 50 Amp is tripping and you need the 80Amp. Then it is still a sorta choice, but a less painful one.

I don’t recall anyone ever having it totally fail. Typical scenario is slides start moving, breaker trips, slides stop, few seconds and breaker resets, slides start moving, breaker trips, ........... Sometimes takes 3/4/5 cycles until slides reach full travel. But eventually do. Never heard of anyone stranded because slides would not move at all due to that breaker.
My 1st 50 amp breaker began tripping after about 3 yrs. Replaced it with another 50 that lasted about 2 yrs. Then bumped up the amp rating.

All that really needs to be said is....... Lippert components(for the hydraulics) states that an 80amp breaker is recommended, but Keystone opts to use the 50amp breaker, as they get them cheaper from their supplier.
Its all about saving Keystone pennies, and making them more profitable !!
