To Replace or not Replace carpet

Just wondering how many of you have decided you no longer want to deal with dirty carpets and problems keeping them clean. I am contemplating pulling mine out but not sure the best materials to use. I'm leaning toward a vinyl that snaps together and requires no adhesive. Researching the net, the downside seems to be a hollow sound and more important to me is the possibility of losing coverage on my extended warranty. Is that true?

Many, many members here have removed the carpet and replaced with a solid surface material. Do a "Search" and you will find lots of information.

We replaced ours with a tile product that was produced for commercial building entryways.

Thanks you. I will try to search for that info. I thought the vinyl would be the easiest and lightest. Where do people find the materials? Home Depot? Flooring stores?

Sure, it can be done. Research many types in the marketplace. Any solid material will produce more sound than carpet. I'm thinking a laminate with the sound-deadening underlayment would be the quietest.

Tried Luxury vinyl

Just installed Stainmaster Luxury Vinyl. After making the decision I was told the by the company they do not recommend it for RVs. They say it does not hold up to extreme temperatures. Love the look, but already one or two have popped out. Will try to make it work for a few years, but now that the carpet it out, any replacement will not take that much work to install
