Ceiling strips

I just re-glued and stapled the ceiling strips inside our 3400. has anyone found a paint to touch up the staples? Probably a water based latex paint.
I need a brand and number,anyone?

Jack I replaced mine with oak strips but I found putty sticks "for like of a real name lol"at lowes that I use to fill nail holes and other small defects. they come in a pack of 4 different colors and one is the white that will match the ceiling. IIRCC they are in the paint dept with the wood fillers and glue.

Jack,
When I did some touch up on our ceiling I used "KILZ 2" LATEX Interior/Exterior Water Base Primer/Sealer/Stainblocker. If you are just doing small touch ups, it should work fine for you. If you want I can take a photo of the label and e-mail it to you....just let me know.

Are those strips stapled into wood or how are they attached? What size of staples or nails did you use? I got a couple loose ones myself. The worst part is in my kitchen area the whole corner has come down. They just wedged a block of wood into the corner to hold it all up. So eventually I want to reattach it somehow.

Dave,I used nine sixteen 14mm brad nails with a air gun. The problem arises from using nail brads into aluminum. Go figure! That's why I also used silicone glue.

That's why I asked, cause I thought it was alum rafters. I was gonna try some small white screws. Dang, I was hoping there was some wood overlay.... Well guess I will give the glue a try too. Thanks

Dave the rafters are galv not alum and the strips are shot to them with a nail gun also they have a little glue on them. I replaced mine with oak when they started to come loose. I used 3/4" ant brass screws and ran them in with a battery drill. I hope the glue works for you if not lowes sell some wood strips that already have designs cut in them that might work for you.
