SHELVES ADDED TO CABINETS
We have a 3455SA without the central vacuum and the cabinet at the end of the kitchen island was tall with no shelves. So yesterday I made a template from cardboard to get the fit and angles correct then made and installed the shelf. From the looks of things, that particular cabinet on the 3455SA, 3400RL and 3665RE all appear to be the same. The reason I mention that is, now I have the cardboard template for the shelf, but have no further use for it and would be happy to bring it to the Siskiyou rally if anyone would want it to construct a shelf from.
I also added and adjustable shelf to one of the front kitchen wall cabinets. Again there was a lot of wasted space without the shelf in the cabinet. I used the metal type rails with adjustable metal tabs for this. The only thing I had to add other than the shelf, was a 3/4" square 18" tall piece of wood to the back left corner of the cabinet to mount that shelf rail to. The other 3 corners already had a piece there to mount the rails to.
I have posted some pictures below.

Cardboard template and completed shelf
Shelf installed in middle of cabinet

Rondo,
One thing is for sure....when you own one of these rigs, you always will have a project waiting for you . I do recall seeing a post a while back(1-2 yrs.) about the cabinets and who manufactures or manufactured them. You could try a search for cabinets or perhaps someone will chime in with the info.

Jack, nice job on the shelves. I put the same shelf above the computer desk on ours and want to put another one in the cabinet to the left of that one.
We do have the onboard vacuum so we can't put a shelf there.
As for the door at the end of the counter, well, you're welcome! I say that because I put a door on the end of our model 3255 and had it at the rally in Goshen and showed it to some people from Montana R&D department. That stands for "Research and duplicate" which many of the changes on the newer Montanas came from our members at rallies. The sewer boom came from one of our members, electric in basement, different shelving and the tilt to the bedroom tv. Keystone has paid lots of attention to our suggestions and improvements and have used a lot of them in todays products.
Keep up with the improvements, you'll be the one to make your Montana yours! All ideas are made better when shared with the rest of us!

I tried to add some adjustable shelves to our new 3400 this last weekend.
I installed some of the hardware with the little clips to hold the shelf.
Then came the problem. The opening with even both cupboard doors open is too small to put the self in. Oh well guess I will have to be content with wire rack shelves.

Great job Senior Chief.
How did you attach the supports to the walls? I'm a bit shy about nails or screws.

For the supports in the upper cabinet, I used 3/4" long screws (2 in each rail/bracket) screwed into the 3/4" inch square posts in each corner of the cabinet. I had to add one 3/4" square, 18" tall post to the back left side of the upper cabinet which I attached using 1 1/4" long countersunk wood screws which screwed into the 3/4" post of the adjoining cabinet. I could have used construction adhesive for this just as well.
For the cabinet at the end of the kitchen counter, I used one 1" long screw into each of the three 3/4" square posts leaving about 1/4" of the screw exposed for the three sides of the shelf to rest on.
If any of this is unclear or photos are needed, let me know.
Jack

Emmel,
Thanks for giving Keystone the idea about the door at the end of the kitchen island cabinets . It is more storage for sure and makes good use of what would have been dead space without the door.
