Surge Protectors

I am new to this and hubby and I have a new 2955RL 10th anniversary. We are looking at surge protectors and does anyone know if the 50 amp in line ones sold at CW will work when connected to a 30 amp service or do we need one for 50 amp and one for 30 amp. Also when the battery disconect switch is off, does the brake away switch still have power to operate the brakes? Getting ready for first long road trip and curious minds need help.

The 50amp Surge Protector is good from a house circuit at 15amp thru 50amp, you will need an adapter from 50amp to 30amp ad from 30amp to 15amp. For the brakes to work the break away switch it needs power. So with your battery switch off pull the break away switch and listen at the wheels for a buzzing sound if there is no sound leave the switch on.

As HOOKMAN stated the 50 Amp will work on both 30 or 50 amp service. I have the CW surge protector and after seeing others out there like theirs better. I would get one that shows the voltage and current draw for each leg and if you mount it permanently I would get it with the remote display.
HOOKMAN's comment on how to check the breakaway switch is right on too. Now - If you do not have 12VDC running to your refrigerator then it will not work the circuit board for either propane or 120VAC. So I am wondering if it is in your best interest to turn off the 12VDC switch.
Welcome to the forum. Ask all those questions because we have all been there and done that, got the T shirt, and maybe sold it.
Cheers,
