Insect Killer

I told Carol about this insect killer we use on our property. She wanted to know what it was so instead of just emailing her I thought I would post for all members in the RGV. We spread (by hand) Ortho Lawn and Garden Insect Killer on all areas around our coach. It is supposed to kill ants, chiggers, fleas and other nasty things that bother the dogs and us. It seems to work for us and our dogs. It may help you guys too. You can get it at Home Depot.

Bill, we just settled in at Victoria Palms and are interested in this use of pesticide. Do you put it around the tires and the front landing gear or in the grass around the concrete pad, or both? We've seen this used at campgrounds. It must work well.

Just spread it by hand on the grass areas around your area. It seems to work great for us. Sure wish it killed sand burs.

Greta wishes it would destroy the sand burrs, too. She is such a wimp if she gets one in her paw.

We use a different, specific granule application for Fire Ants.
