Good Sam CSP

Hi all. Does anyone have or recommend (or not!) the Good Sam CSP? We have an extended warranty on our 5W but was thinking maybe we needed something else.

Thanks and looking forward to your responses.

Steve and Cathy, I have RV insurance through RV America, an extended warranty AND I just signed on to Good Sam Emergency Road Service. Others will be along to tell about their insurance or you can read the other posts about it. BTW welcome to the "Best Dern Forum on the Internet"!!!!!!!!!!!

I get bombarded with GS propaganda. Isn't the GS CSP the same as an extended warranty? I have an extended warranty from the dealer, therefore, did not get it from GS...but do have GS ERS.

Good Sam ERS (Emergency Road Service) most definitely recommend; CSP (Continued Service Plan) - No; same as others above I purchased an extended warranty through the dealership. ERS will provide tow, emergency fuel, etc., if you break down on the road. Talking to local dealer, getting CSP is another insurance (extended warranty) and you may have to fight to get it to pay -- they will want your extended warranty to pay first and then might cover anything remaining. Not sure it would be worth the hassles and stress to have to arbitrate between them.

The CSP will cover many things inside your rig that the extended warranties will not(such as all of the appliances). The price is also much less than the Mfg. I do believe that the CSP is a better deal than most extendeds. Read both carefully and you will make a good decision.

If you are considering the GS CSP in lieu of the extended warranty, here's something to think about. I believe you'll find most of do not have individual extended warranties on each appliance, but one warranty that covers everything in the rig. That's what mine does.

When doing research on extended warranties we did not see that Good Sams was any different than any of the better ones except that it cost much more and we could see no reason why it should.

Good Sam is like AARP once you sign on you are fair game for all the junk mail. They try to make it sound like you wont survive unless you have this or that coverage. I called both Good Sam and AARP and told them to get me off their mailing list for the extra junk or they can forget the next renewal. If everyone would do this they might wake up.

We just received a quote form CSP for $335 annually for our out of warranty 2006 3400RL. How does that compare to other extended warranty costs? I too would like to hear from others who hae thois coerage.

You could wait until you have a problem and then buy the CSP for a year. They keep sending me quotes for my 2004 and it is the same price as the 2006. Never have bought an extended warranty, guess I'm a gambler as I go to Nevada every week.

gs just quoted us $435 for an 07 3400RL, after reading all the fine print, and the "what we do not cover" it appears that more is not covered than is. It is all based on factory installed items, which would not cover our gen set, washer and dryer, flat screen TV, surround sound, any of the upgraded furniture, frame, fiberglass, on and on. I can't really see what they do cover... read it closly.

no thanks, will go it on my own.
