Thanks Montana Sky,
So far our Mission tires are looking OK. Are your weather stations calling for hot weather in your area next week?
I know the last time we were in Leavenworth it was over 100, that's too hot for us old folks to walk around the town for too long. Might have to just sit with our feet in the river and have a cool brew.

J & D,
This coming week, the news is calling for 76-82 degrees all week. Just on Tuesday is a slight chance of rain, the rest of the week is sun, sun, and more sun.... =)

Well....
I had the Mission tires on my Keystone Sprinter 2999, we had just entered Texas from Oklahoma, driving along and noticed rubber bouncing in the air, I told Sue, some poor soul lost a tire here, looked in the rear view mirror and saw shredded rubber flying all over the road, yep, I was the poor soul. Changed the ruined tire (took 2 hours, trailer tilted to the ditch side, semi's rocking the rig going by at 80mph) repaired the wiring torn loose from the electric brakes, and looked around at the other trailer tires finding bubbles on another. No tire dealer in 100 miles even heard of Mission, I had to buy 4 new tires, no room to cart the old ones back home, so I had to eat the set of tires, even though they had a little over 1,500 miles on them.
So yesterday when we picked up our new Montana 3400RL, it had the new set of Goodyear Marathon tires on it. I told the RV dealer Naylor, in K.C. I would not pull the Montana 10 feet with Mission tires on it.
We reached an agreement. You can take your chances with Mission, but what will you do when you are in the middle of nowhere and need an adjustment on their bum tires?
By the way, nice Forum, hope to learn from my fellow Montana owners.

All four of our Tacomas were starting to show tread seperation at about 16-18K, so don't trust them too far, either.

I was very skeptical of my Missions but I got them balanced and they were excellent on my trip. We towed over 3000 miles, they held 80 PSI the whole time, ran very cool and there is no sign of wear. I think I will go with them for a couple of years or until they let me down.

Montana puts the same tires on all their models and the Missions on my 2955RL should have an easier life than Missions on the bigger coaches.
My 2955RL only has 9700 pounds on the trailer axles when she is loaded to the max, the other 2600 is on the pin.
The big Monties will put up to 12000 pounds on those same tires and that is a large difference.

Ozz, I wish you luck with the Goodyear Marathons. I dumped our Goodyear Marathons back in early March for the BF Goodrich Commercial T/A tires because of continual problems/blowouts with the Marathons over several years. I never wore one out because they wouldn't last that long. This was over three fifthwheels in 7 years. We probably blew out a dozen of them, easily. I hope they work out better for you.

I see one problem with Mission tires and several reports of no problems. Has anyone else had problems with the Missions? I've just not seen any problems reported out there other than the one in this thread. We'll soon be running Mission tires, probably, so am looking for your experiences. Thanks.

Been watching the Mission tires very closely on this trip..check them at every stop and shoot the temps with the IR thermometer. everything normal.. Over the years we have had problems with about every major brand of tire.

I also am no fan of Goodyear Marathons. I had them on my 95 Kit Fifth wheel and the steel cables were coming right out of the rubber.

Hi, new to board.

I have had a whale of a time with my Missions tires, as well as other RVers that own non-Keystone products that you can find in RV.net.

It appears the main problems ones are 15's not 16s, and specifically in hot weather, at relatively, but not excessive high speeds (65-70mph). It is a real problem however.

Conversely, I replaced mine (including 4 blown Missions) with Maxxis tires (yes made in China). They have turned out, as well as for other RVers I have heard from, an ~outstanding~ tire, especially for high-speed/hot weather.

I just did a brutal 4-month Yucatan trip and as usual no longer even worry about tires after switched to Maxxis.

So Far no problems, even made a round trip to Florida and back. They are still holding pressure no signs of excessive wear, I also have the Mor/ride axles. Jury still out.
