Interstate 80 July 12-20
Blinking at Montana’s between Mt. Shasta, CA and Rapid City, SD on a quick solo round trip July 12-20 in my white Ford pickup I logged the following units. Nobody blinked back. Probably thought I was nuts! Were any of these MOC members?
Monday 7/12 you were westbound on I 80
11:55 AM 12 miles west of Lovelock NV.
3:50 PM just west of Elko NV.
4:12 PM between Elko and Wells NV.
Tuesday 7/13 you were westbound on I 80
10:30 AM 61 miles east of Wendover NV.
10:40 AM 75 miles east of Wendover NV.
Wednesday 7/14 you were westbound on I 80
10:40 AM at Ft. Bridger WY.
2:20 PM 52 miles west of Rawlins WY.
2:30 PM met the Peterson’s from Wisconsin enjoying their new Montana at the Ft. Steele rest stop east of Rawlins WY. Made them aware of MOC.
4:45 PM 26 miles west of Laramie WY.
Thursday 7/15 you were westbound on I 80
8:40 AM 12 miles east of Laramie WY.
Sunday 7/18 you were northbound on State Hwy 79 12 miles south of Rapid City SD @ 8:45 AM.
Sunday 7/18 you were pulling into a Flying J truck stop just south of the I 80/I 25 interchange in Cheyenne WY @ 1:42 PM.
Monday 7/19 you were eastbound on I 80
2:10 PM 6 miles east of Wendover NV.
3:10 PM west of Elko NV.
Tuesday 7/20 at 8:15 AM at the Flying J truck stop in Winnemucca NV. Appeared to be 2 new units in transport to dealers.
Tuesday 7/20 you were eastbound on I 80 at the interchange with US 95
10:12 AM 36 miles east of Fernley NV.
Tuesday 7/20 you were stopped by traffic control road construction southbound on Hwy 89 near Hat Creek CA @ 3:00 PM.
I’ve decided to start marking Montana’s as waypoints on my GPS and use a small tape recorder instead of trying to write the info down while driving. Much safer for all of us.
Hope you all arrived safely at your destinations.

Wow, sounds like you were on a Montana hunt --think you win for spotting the most units (seventeen) on your jaunt to SD -- that's a lot of Monty's on the move!

Britney 10, I only logged Montana's on the move, but did see your rig as well as 4-5 others in RV parks on the trip. I was traveling without my unit at the time. Vickster, I thought it was quite a few units in that period of time also. Guess I was just bored and looking for something to do while driving alone.
