Need a new mattress

Tempur Pedic or sleep number? The mattress that came with our SOB is the cheapest thing I've seen in any rig we've ever bought. So we will be replacing it before our next adventure. Thanks in advance. Bill & Stacy

Check out Mishiana mattress in Goshen. We bought our replacement from them and love it.

There are many, many good choices. There are many different prices. Do a search for RV sized mattresses. Take your pick.

Bergad isoform http://www.isoform.com/ also check reviews at Epinions.com http://www1.epinions.com/reviews/Ber...oform_Mattress

They will make the mattress bottom and the cover with a 12" radius to match oem at no additional cost.

We have one at home, had one in our previous Monty and recently added on to our current Monty.

When we traded in our 2955 we returned the oem mattress and gave the slightly used Bergad to Rv'ing friends. These friends own a Tempurpedic in thier s&b. They say it compares favorably with the Tempurpedic but costs less.

Please note I have no interest in this company whatsoever.

We have had our Tempurpedic (at home, not in our Montana) for over six years and it still provides a good night sleep.

Someone recommended this website awhile back,
http://www.rockymountainmattress.com...beds-c-21.html
We bought a four inch memory foam topper at Costco three years ago, when we first bought our Montana, sleeps just about as comfortable as our expensive Tempurpedic at home.
We thought the topper was a temporary fix, but it has served us well.

Did you trim your topper to match the mattress?

Will the standard Queen size mattress fit in the Montana? By taking out the King mattress and cutting the base board down, the dimensions appear to be alright.

We did not trim the topper for our king bed. A CA king topper is the right width for the Montana king bed but too long. I pulled the mattress out a few inches and tucked the topper excess in at the top and pushed the mattress back. Again, it was a temporary fix but it has worked well. Our topper came with cover that was filled with fiberfill so I wasn't quite sure how to cut it off with our remaking the entire cover. Since the bed pushes up against the dresser in the 3400 when the slides are closed, the topper stays put, maybe because of the "memory". LOL

Queen just fits lengthwise. It's so tight you never have to worry about the dresser drawers opening. When we close our bedroom slide I can see the mattress raise just a little. We're glad we changed from the king.

My neurosurgeon recommented a Tempurpedic but said most people complain they are too hot. He says he sleeps on pillows on top of the mattress. So we are still looking. Any comments on the heat!

Memory foam mattresses are warmer than an innerspring mattress but not unbearably so. They are also much more firm when cold. Last year we left MA for the RGV on 12/27, those first two nights the mattress was like sleeping on concrete until it warmed up.

Thanks for your reply...we just finished a four month trip in our Montana and what started out as a comfortable mattress is no longer comfortable...so, we are looking for a replacement.

We have not experienced any difficulty in that regard with our Tempurpedic...and we have spent some pretty warm (hot) summers in Florida sleeping on it.

We put a 2" memory foam topper on our mattress the first week we had out new unit. Works for us. It turned an uncomfortable mattress unto a perfectly decent one.

Tempurpedic recommends a fiberfill mattress pad in addition to their cover over the foam mattress. On really warm nights, it is hot but I don't think it is because of the mattress. The only time we experienced the concrete effect was when we bought our mattress in January, it was delivered from a central warehouse. It did take a couple of days to warm up due to its depth.
