Solved: Coach shuts down when operating slides or jacks

I thought this might be of help to other newbies. We purchased our 2019 3931FB new in Feb. From the very start, (when on batteries - 2 x interstate grp 24) the slides and jacks would cause the coach to shut down and recycle. I finally pulled the batteries and took them to Interstate and learned both had bad cells. Replaced the batteries and thought all was good. WRONG. The problem continued.

After having problems with the original dealer we purchased from, I took advice from this forum and called Keystone. They said take it to another dealer. I did. They found Keystone had wired the slides and jacks together through a 30amp circuit breaker. Keystone said it was suppose to be that way. More research on this site show the Lippert doc recommending the circuit breaker being changed to an 80amp breaker. I sent the Lippert doc to Keystone because they claimed to know nothing about the doc. Keystone balked and would only approve a 50amp breaker. HOWEVER, the dealer went ahead and installed a 100amp breaker.

Long story short... it works great! Thanks to this group I'm a happy camper (pun intended).

The lesson for other newbies is don't settle for what the dealer or Keystone says, do your research and this site. You'll be happier.

Below are pics of the wiring before and after. On the after you can see the red wire going from the battery to the 100amp breaker.

That's interesting because Keystone installed a 50amp in our 2010 to start with and then paid to have an 80amp installed under warranty. Sounds like someone in customer service doesn't know very much.

I guess I don't understand what was done. The dealer *ADDED* a 100 amp CB wired directly to the battery and it feeds the pump reversing (I would call it a Trombetta switch but BB-TX would yell at me)? Where does the red wire going vertically from the left, original, CB go to? It used to feed the pump.

They had tied the pump and slides together in the first pic (See my revised). In the second it was rewired from the battery to the solenoid on the pump (see second pic).

I think I understand what your dealer did. Running a separate circuit for just the hydraulic pump works. But a simpler solution, done by hundreds of members here, is just to replace the left 50 amp CB with an 80 amp one.
