Has anyone had problems with their Apollo microwave-convection-half time oven. Ours just died - the only thing working is the clock.

Just for an act of desperation, unplug it and plug it back in.
Sometimes that resets the electronics.

We had the same thing happen --- only clock worked -- no heat. Took it to a local repair place in Yuma and the price of fixing it was going to be more that the price of a new one -- difficult to find anyone that services that brand. Suggest you call Apollo (1 800 772 7262 was the number we called) They were very helpful when we spoke with them. New one has been working great.

Open the door and note the plastic strip that goes around the inside of the door, It is a pop out strip..make sure it is firmly in place..It can interfere with the door closing properly and cause the unit not to work.. and yes do a reboot.

We had the same problems, only the clock worked.
Took it to a repair center and they told us the main PC board was dead, and that they were not an authorized repair facility so we are still without a working microwave (one month now).
We did buy a PC board (75.00us) from Apollo. Now I only need to find the right repair center to install it.
This unit (bought in 2004) only worked correctly for about 15 months. If I cannot get it repaired correctly I will NOT buy a replacement unit from Apollo for sure.

Ours died and we replaced it with a GE, model JES1290ML01, that we bought from WalMart for $189.00. It is a little bigger than the 1/2 time and even has a grill. It is quiet and works great with more features. If you decide to go this way, PM us and we'll give you installation details.

Ours quit the other day. We had only used it 4 months. We took it back to the dealer (almost 200 miles round-trip) where we bought the Monty. It was a fuse. We wonder what caused the fuse to go in the first place. We have had quite a few electrical problems with this RV, so wonder if that had anything to do with it.

The microwave part of ours pooped out about 3 months after we bought the Monty. The fan runs, light comes on, and it sounds like it is working, but it doesn't heat anything. The half-time oven still works fine. This happened about a month into a 7-month Alaska trip. It's at the top of our list for the dealer when we get back next month.

Because our new home hasn't arrived yet, my question is if there are so many problems with this unit, is this still the same mode/manufacturer they are using? Sounds like they need to find another brand or company.

Our understanding is the part that is breaking on the door is plastic and the newer ones are improved. That is just the door problem though. We have used ours for 9 months continuously when new and about 3 months since. The door broke in the last few weeks of use and the unit has been working great other than that. Of the thousands of units sold only a few have had the problem. This is like anything else, there are a few problems and we share them here but that doesn't mean your unit will have all or any of these problems.

Unless you absolutely need the oven, I'd suggest replacing it with a Panasonic Inverter microwave. It draws less current when you set it at lower heat settings, so it's easier on a generator.

We are replacing our Apollo 1/2 time with a new one this coming Wed. I will call tomorrow and make sure the mfr date of the one waiting for me is after April 2006 - else they need to get another one for me.

There is another topic on moisture accumulation in the Apollo to which I gave the following response, but will repeat it here just for your information:

This seems to be common with the Apollo. I think it may have something to do with the 1/2 time feature. I have yet to solve the condensation problem, but have learned to live with it by using the auto dry button combined with paper towels close at hand when opening the door after cooking. I love the 1/2 time feature and have been fortunate that mine is still working. I did have to replace the plastic seal in the door as ours was cracked within 30 days, but a call to Apollo (I believe I got the number from the manual) resulted in them sending me a new seal overnight mail to the campground where we were staying at the time.

The seal on the door seemed to be a weak spot in manufacturing. Glad to hear it may have been improved. When our seal broke the door would not close properly and resulted in the oven not working although the clock was fine. Since we replaced the door seal have had no further problem except the moisture.

You won't believe it. I was talking about our Apollo Microwave on another thread (Moisture Content), and then... Our unit failed. Just as reported here, the clock works, and I can enter the time for cooking and push the "start" button and it just clicks off. I unplugged as several had suggested to reboot the computer but it didn't help. So, I too will be contacting Keystone & Apollo for repair/replacement.

Dave (Dspric), has your unit failed as well or are you just replacing with a newer version? What is key to the April 2006 date?

Check that plastic strip around the door..Make sure it is FIRMLY pushed in all the way around.

After April 2006 Apollo began to put the new improved door latch in the ovens.Everything else is the same.

I just called Apollo. They are sending me a new gasket. The person on the phone said the oven would still work without the gasket. I told her the microwave works, but the 1/2 time and the convection does not work without it. Her comment was "that's strange". It seems we know more about the ovens than Apollo.
