KM Resort Campground

Has anyone had dealings, membership with KM Campgrounds/Resort Group? We received a "Free" buy-in package with the purchase of our 3400RL an now are considering attending their presentation. Looking for any experiences, good or bad, just wanting to go into the briefing with an open mind and eyes. Package pays for the $2000 initial buy-in with only the annual maint. fee's to be picked up by us. What's your thought's ??

We meet people who dealt with them. They tried to sell them one resort membership and add the rest for a fee. They said they wanted all resorts in the system and the recipicals and told them that was the only way they would buy and they got it. Some systems use high pressure some don't.

We bought our Montana in July and received several camping club freebies. One was KM Resorts. We went for a free 3 day stay and attended an informational session that lasted an hour or so. It was very informative and answered all of our questions. There was NO pressure to buy. The bottom line was $3k to $5k, depending how extensive a package you wanted. While there we met the K(evin) of KM. Kevin & Michael are Canadian brothers who own KM Resorts. It appears to me that KM Resorts is doing a lot to improve their campgrounds. During our stay we talked with several KM members. Everyone spoke highly of KM Resorts.

We decided not to buy in at this time. It was to much of a commitment for us. Being RV rookies, we weren't sure it would fit with what we wanted to do, so we are waiting for a little more rv experience.

Also, keep in mind that you can buy "used" packages for a lot less.

We do have the KM Membership and because we live(in our Monty) most of the time in Washington state we could not do without it. It is good for those who like us live here most of the time or for those who spend alot of time in Washington state. The price now is closer to 5K, but there are people who own these membership and are selling them on the net for 2 to 3K. Just make sure that you get all 8 parks. Here is one of the sites http://www.rvmemberships.net/currentlistings.htm and there are many more. The membership can be transferred to one of your children for just keeping up the annual dues (350.00 for us). We get 8 parks and most are nice parks. Let us know if you have any other questions...........hope this helps.....Les

My wife and I went to a KM presentation after attending a RV show. Apparently we had won a free membership worth $1000.00.

After getting the sales pitch, we found out that if we just accepted the $1000.00 membership we would not be able to use ANY of the parks in WA other than the one park in Elma due to their 125 mile rule.

In the end we were offered a membership for $5,000.00. We decided that this was not something we wanted and told the salesman our decision. While walking to the exit door, the salesman came running out to us and said the sales manager had offered the same membership to us for $2500.00. We again said no thanks and left. At this point K&M sounded just like the typical land sales pitch.

I am sure there are lots of folks who like campground memberships and get a lot of value out of them, but for us, who like to stay at various places, this was not something that we would buy into.
