You may have to raise the trailer on the levelers to get grease to flow, just raise on side to lift tires and then the other. I make the assumption that bad zeros weren't installed...

What I found on myne was the zerk ball stuck and would not take grease. I replaced all the zerks with good ones and have not had any problem snise.

On our rig, I started out with a one handed grease gun, and switched to a two handed lever style gun. It works so much better. This is still assuming the zerks are good. Also, the reason for lifting the rig is because they may have gotten some of the wet bolts turned so the load is on the holes where the grease is supposed to come out.

I replaced the grease fittings where the tires made it hard to access with 90 degree fittings, what a difference !

That is a great idea I had to use a flex head to access some of them
Thanks

I replaced mine with 45s. The fitting are for the most part universal in size.
If you have level up then, jack it up so most if not all on the weight is off the tires and the grease should go in much better.

I also had trouble getting half of them to take grease. I even tried a small punch to break the ball loose with no luck. I replaced all of them. I found that some were not even finger tight. I will also install 45 degree zerks the next time a add grease.

We replaced all the zerk fittings and greased them all BUT one would not take grease. The zerk it self take grease but when installed it will not
Just to make sure we are doing this correctly
Our question is:
when we lift one side off the ground to release the pressure to put grease in do all rear 4 level pads need to be in the up position and then we just put down the 2 to lift the tires off the ground on the side we need?

You will wind up lowering all 4 rear jacks. The Level-Up system will only allow a limited amount of "tilt" before it won't go further up (or down). You will have to raise each side by alternating between the left and right. To lift the tires off the ground on one side without raising the other side is *TOO* much "tilt".

An alternative to going with 45 degree zerks soley for better access is the 5883 Lincoln 90 degree grease gun tip. It works pretty well as long as you have a hand available to hold the 90 degree tip solidly on the zerk.

I had one that wouldn't take grease. By the time I got to fix it, the wet bolt had fused to the remaining brass bearing with road grime. When I went to install new bearing and wet bolt, the hole that the serrated part of the bolt is supposed to grab had been worn by the bolt turning. Had to weld in a new shackle in order to fix.
I also replaced my fittings with 45 degree ones. Much easier to get the grease gun firmly on the fitting.

I got a coupler that attaches to the grease gun. Can swivel from 90 to 180 degrees, works well, have the straight zerks.
