Tekonsha P3 says "Overload"

My break controller say "Overload, no brakes". It does this after one or two stops. The book makes it sound similar to a short but no blown fuses. Ant ideas?

Craig, I do not think that the brake wiring has a fuse. Since it occurs after a couple of stops, I'd think that a fuse is not the problem.
I have found many times on my trailer that the wiring inside the brake drum has been chaffed, or totally cut by the magnet actuator arm. (generally the right front wheel is where I look first)
Also, I had one brake wire that runs thru the rear axle worn, exposing the wire .
Another place to look is on the magnet actuator arm. The wire clips that retain the wire will cut into the covering of the copper strands. It only takes one bare strand to show up as a short. That one was hard to find.
I hope that this helps. Bill

Try a test plug first to make sure its not the tow vehicle. before you move on. Just to eliminate that part.

If we all want to have another project, I think the wiring going into and out of the axle should be wrapped to prevent rubbing the insulation at that point - thoughts?
