Furnace problem

We have bought a 2015 Keystone Montana 3611 RL and still trying to solve a few problems. We just can't get the furnace to run, it always tries for a few seconds and then it stops. we found the flashing light and it says air flow problem. Does anybody know how and where to fix this. Thanks

Remove the outside cover and clean you probably have a mud dauber nest in the air intake. And then install bug screens.

Have you tried to shut off the tanks, bleed off the pressure, then open the tank valve SLOWLY on the tank the main regulator is pointed at? Then try the furnace?

Also, check if the stove works. IF so, it isn't a problem with the tanks, etc but strictly the furnace.

Prior to the furnace lighting, the fan is supposed to run for a bit, then the igniter lights the flame. Does the fan run during the ignition process? If it doesn't, the fan motor may be bad.

The problem is most likely a Sail Switch failure. But to be sure, follow the diagnostic procedures spelt out in the following link:
http://www.montanaowners.com/forums/...?do=file&id=11

The Files section of the forum has a number of handy manual, tips and references for many of the common problems.

You might also check to see if the vents are open. If the previous owner, like we have, installed vents that you can close in the summer you probably won't get enough air flow until they are opened. We have two sets. The open ones that came with the rig and ones that are screwed closed to keep cat hair etc out during the summer. It just occured to me that we traded our old rig with the summer screwed shut vents installed.

Did you find the problem with furnace ? I have the same unit as you have and I had the exact same problem as you have. Called mobile tech, he checked furnace outside, wires in electrical box.....all good, thought about it for a minute and then removed a/c filter panel in the living room.....yep, just a loose wiring connection. Saw this post earlier but didn't ring a bell for me till just now, sorry. Mine happened 2 years ago. Hope it works if you haven't already fixed it.

a/c Furnace Filter?

Your reply started having me wonder where this might be located. We've had ours since March and I haven't come across a filter or filter housing.

Maybe he is speaking of the heat pump? There is no factory installed filter on the furnace. We are on our 3rd Montana and none have had one.

We had our AC's serviced and then it turned cold and the furnace wouldn't work, but it wouldn't work at all. They had knocked the communication cable out of the AC unit and so then the thermostat couldn't communicat thru the AC to the furnace. But if the furnace runs at all and then shuts down, that's not it. It's most likely a bad sail switch and if the switch is good there is an obstruction in the ducts.

See # 12 below. Exactly like that. bad wiring connection in air conditioning unit in living area. Sorry for not being a little more clear about it.

To clarify: there is a box in the AC unit that communicates with both the furnace and the AC unit for control. If the furnace tries to light/does light/goes out, it could likely be a bad ignitor. this functions both the keep the gas turned on if the flame is lit and off if it doesn't light (like a thermocouple), as well as forming the spark to light the propane stream. If you don't know what you are doing, take it to a tech.

Finally the furnace is fixed. It was at the dealership, there was a "limit switch/air flow issue, they had to replace the "limit switch". At least it works now!
Thanks again for your help!!
