Free at last, free at last, from debt, that is.
The move to the Monty is complete. House and most possessions sold or distributed to children and grandchildren. Monty, with us in it fulltime, sits on a private lot a couple of miles from old home. Settling in for about 3 months and then off we go. Plan is to be there until after Christmas. Then we head for sunny South. Already have the month of January 2005 reserved.
It has been a “trip” so far. The transition was much more work than anticipated. Boy, what a bunch of stuff you can accumulate in 30 years. It was emotionally and physically draining. To complicate matters, just a little, I had radiation seed implants for prostate cancer thrown in the mix. Looking back, can’t believe we got through it.
Will be working until Christmas holidays. Then full retirement. It is all a bit scary. So far, everything points to this being the right decision. Sold the house very quickly for the area we live in. Others in the area have taken months to years. Ours was sold in 5 weeks. Did not really plan to sell furniture to individuals, but folks just showed up and wanted to buy. So many little things just seemed to fall in place. I know God was in it.
So…..here we go! More later when we are on the road.

Congratulations! Hope you'll enjoy fulltiming as much as we do. It took a little adjustment here and there but you get into the swing of it before long. Besides sharing a bathroom, the hardest part for us was getting out of vacation mode, realizing we don't have to do and see everything in a week or two. We have time and need to mix in reality days to do laundry and cleaning and shopping and sometimes just to relax. It's a great life. Hope you enjoy it. Please tell us about your experiences as you encounter them.

Thanks for all the well wishes. Coming up on 4 weeks in 5er fulltime. So far, so good.
Only one glitch. Furnace quit Sunday night. Called dealer on Monday and talked for an hour. Tried everything they told us to do. No luck. Went in yesterday. Thought I would give it a try. Lo and behold, it came on and is working today. Huh?? Don’t know whether to be relieved or concerned. Guess will take it a day at a time. So far it has not been really cold. 37 on Monday morning coldest so far. Am sure before we head for Florida in January, it will be get colder.
Happy trails…
