WINEGARD RAYZAR Z1 antenna replacment

Has anyone replaced a WINEGARD RAYZAR Z1 antenna before?

Is there a way replace the top antenna section without removing the flange from the roof ?

I bought a complete unit but I am trying to avoid removing the seal and having to unscrew the whole flange on the roof.

Yes there is. Saturday I replaced mine with ease. You will need a 3/8" deep socket and cresent or box wrench for coaxial cable. With the box or cresent wrench remove the coaxial cable. Next there are 3 3/8" lock nuts above the three resting legs of the present unit. Use the 3/8" deep socket and remove the three nuts. Take the base plate off the new antenna after removing those 3/8" nuts. Now without the nuts and plates on the new Rayzor, place the new antenna over the three studs on the base plates and replace the nuts. Then reset the coaxial cable with the cresent or box wrench. No disruption of the sealant.
