Freezer not cold enough

We went out with the new Monty for our first camping trip of the season to see if everything is working as it should. The ice cream in the freezer was very soft. We never had that problem with any othe RV fridge we had in the past.

Has anyone else had this issue? It's an RM1350 model. Is this normal? The setting was at three. Five is the coldest according to the manual. I have a fridge thermometer and I am running some tests on it now, but the ice cream itself was a bit of a test.

There was an issue with one of the slides as well and I am going to make an appointment with the dealer for that.

Ice cream freezes at 6 deg. There is a bulb in the frig. on the coils. mines is on the right side . check it and see if it's at the mark on the inside wall. I had mine fall off and had problems with the temps.
I also run mine with the setting on 4.

What model of fridge do you have? I ran the fridge at 5 overnight and the outside temperature was 70 F and inside the fridge was 33. That's about the coldest you would want it. The freezer was around 0 F according to my fridge thermometer. This is probably at the high end for what you would want in the freezer.

I think I read somewhere that the left (?) side of the freezer is the coldest. Not sure which fridge model tho.

We had the 4 Door Norcold and could never get Ice Cream firm. Control was set at 5, any colder in the Fridge section and we started freezing thing in the Fridge.

Important piece of Information: You did not say what the temperature readout was for the frig itself. We have a RM1350LMX, and when we experienced soft cream the temperature reflected was in the high 40s and climbing and in fact we had a defective cooling unit replaced under warranty. Since then (two years) have had no issues, normally run on 3 unless weather is really hot, and frig temperature varies between 33 and 37, and will get up to 40-41 during the defrost cycle. Did install a 110 4 inch fan at the bottom outside vent pointed up to help push hot air up and out which has helped to maintain cooler temperatures.

Then fridge temperature was around 36 according to the display. A tech at a dealer we were at yesterday said to crank the fridge up to four or five. He said they don't always do well in hot outside temperatures, although it was not that hot out. I've seen it a lot hotter.

Sorry about taking so long to reply. It's a Dometic. We camp at Myrtle Beach in the heat and humidity, and we had problems twice. One was when the sensor was knocked off and the first was when we overload the fridge. you have to have it so that air can circulate.

I found the sensor, it is on the "ceiling" of the fridge. No sensor in freezer. Tech at dealership said to crank up the fridge in hot weather to four or five.
