On LT tires do your edges of the tires wear

I installed Duravis LT 235 x 85 x 16 and so far only put about 30 miles on them, but I noticed the outside and inside of the tire edge have worn a bit. I assume this was
from turning sharply when backing in the trailer. I used to have Maxxix ST tires and their tire edges did not wear. If you have the same LT tires have you noticed some wear
On the tire edges?

I don't have any experience with either tire, but if your tires show wear after 30 miles, wow, I'd be concerned. I doubt even over or under-inflation can do anything that soon.

Showing wear after only 30 miles is NOT NORMAL or ACCEPTABLE in my opinion. I run LT tires and my 3 year old Michelins still look as new.

I run Duravis 250 tires and after 5000 miles this year they show some wear on the inside and out side edges. The last set did the same with 8 years of use. Making sharp turns on a hard surface like hot pavement I believe is what is hardest on trailer tires and suspension.

Under/over inflation affects wear of inside and outside tread, but not after 30 miles. I have always experienced even wear on LT tires used on our Montana units.

I have over 20,000 miles on my Michelins and you can hardly tell any wear at all. Something not right if you have obvious wear at that few miles.

I have Duravis R250, 2 years of use, about 14K miles. Yes there is a small bit of edge wear. But to see wear in 30 miles?? I did not see any wear after my first 1000 mile trip.

This is my right front tire with 14K miles on it. It is worn the most.

Nope. Something's wrong. I originally suspected underinflation, but after 30 miles? You could probably run them flat for 30 miles!

Is this on all 4 tires? If it is I suspect it is the design of the tire rather than wear. Seems I remember a post about one of the tires, not sure which one that the inside and outside edges had a taper. Can't imagine any scenerio where 30 miles would should a discernible wear pattern. Jim

Haven't experienced anything like that with our Firestone Transforce tires in 20k miles.

I have the same tires and it is the designe of the tires. Mine look the same as the ones in the photo. I have about 5000 miles on them.

After 30 miles I think I would have my axles checked.....

I'm running BFG Commercial T/A's with approximately 10,000 miles and they look new. 30 miles...I'd look into having the axels checked.

When I had the tires installed I asked the installer if he inflated the tires to 80lbs and he replied that he did. Well he didn't because after the 30 mile drive back home I guess the edges got worn a bit from being under inflated. Once I got home and after seeing the tire edge wear I checked the air pressure and they were only 60lbs. The lessions learned is when someone works on your vehicle make sure you check their work. We just completed a 1500 mile trip and the tires performed well with no additional tire edge wear.

Thank you for your replies to my post.
