Tires -- prices
I found the Goodyear G614 for $284 and change; mounted, balanced, and taxed, i.e., drive out price. Should I buy or have any of you found a better price?

Stiles, I have been quoted $227.00 plus mounting, balance and Tax. Thats here in Tennessee. They are very expensive, but do we have a choice? The RV industry should step up and at the very least offer the G614's as a option. GBY...

Stiles,
I think the price is fair, it's the same thing I sell them for.

When we owned the Chevy Kodiak 4500, I had to buy a spare tire, didn't come with spare? It was equiped with Michelin 19'5 don't remember the exact size, but they were top of the line. I paid $270.00 for the tire from Sams Club, don't understand why the G614's are so expensive, maybe because its American made? Oh well everything is going up, thanks to Oil prices (Diesel) today in Ky at the Flying J was $3.51. Will be $4.00 by middle summer. I try to fill at 1/2 tank so it doesn't seem so bad, I guess maybe at 3/4 GBY....

neither Sam's nor WalMart carry any G-rated tires. I have asked. NTB and Discount Tires in my area are $55 each more for the same tire. Of course, they both carry the cheaper Chinese tires which have delivered me a total of 4 blowouts from tire failure, not road hazard.

My G614s had a base price of $229 at Wingfoot. Mounting & balancing were $16 each, and taxes and other charges brought the total for 5 tires up to $1400, which works out to $280 per tire. So your quote is in the same range.

Great David, thanks. This is my local, small town, rural dealer. I think this guy is genuine.
