I think it's both putting boards on the ground for the legs to rest on and also being discussed is putting lots of heighth (via blocks) to minimize how far the landing gear are down. I have to agree it seems more stable in the coach with less landing gear deployed. But I wonder if those blocks might topple in a heavy wind gust that gets under the trailer. I've seen bent landing gear on a trailer that was lifted in a park in Staunton, VA. Same gust that took out our awning.

So I just use minimum blocking and then run the landing gear down a long ways before dropping the inner part. That seems to help stability a little, though not a lot.

If on concrete, sometimes I don't use any blocks at all under the landing gear. But on any other surface I do just to spread the weight so it doesn't settle/sink and throw off the level.

I'm not sure what's best but want to go back over this thread for some more ideas.
