Kipor 30 amp twist
Has anybody made an adapter from the Kipor Sinemaster 3500TI 30 amp plug to the 50amp monty plug? How would I wire it? Can you find one that is pre-made?

flyerone,
Camping World has a twistlock to 30 amp RV adapter for about $20. It's on page 139 of their 2006 master catalog. That's a pretty good price considering how much tistlocks cost. It says the 30 amp end is a locking receptacle. I'm not sure that makes sense when you want to connect a 30 amp cord to the generator, but maybe I'm missing something.

I made one for our Generac. The most important thing to start with is to find the correct matching plug, there are many variations on twist-locks. Fortunately the Generac came with a spare plug. If you have a 30 amp/110volt outlet on the generator, it is pretty straight forward to make the adapter. You obviously need the recpticle end as well, one easy way to get that is to sacrifice an ordinary 30 amp RV extension cord by cutting the plug end off and attaching the appropriate twist lock.
Good luck with the project.

This is NOT the correct plug/We looked it up , it is a 20 to 30 amp adaptor. They do not make that clear but the picture tells the tale. the part number for the Kipor 30amp twist lock plug, from Kipor, is, (pigtail style) #14397, price unknown..E mail for Kipor Customer service is kiporcare@coastdist.com You can get the one piece molded style at most any RV store for@ 25.00...

If you like that then you love this, Onan part # 0302-2036. I can't find the link with the description right now but it's a plug in digital voltage monitor. They are apparently closing them out at $10 ea. You can find them on their Funroads.com site. I ordered one that should be here Tuesday.

It was a lucky find. BTW the Hays Equipment site has a wireless remote start and has tested the unit and found a max surge of 35 amps for 2 seconds.
Helps to understand where the 3500 nomenclature came from.

Thanks..we just orderd the pigtail plug and a molded plug for 27.50 with shipping. That would have cost me 53.00 for the pigtail and 26.00 for the molded plug at our local Rv dealer + Ohio tax..total= 84.33 so you saved us 56.83...We owe you many coffee's or the beverage of your choice. Maybe see you at the G.L Rally this year????
