Brakes locked up
Had a bad and good experience this past weekend.
As I always do, I checked the brakes on the RV prior to leaving the campground. Well, let me tell you, I almost went through the windshield.
The driver side front wheel locked up. Each time i applied the truck brake, the RV wheel locked up. I experienced this before, and usually can get it to work freely, but this time no luck.
I called Good Sam ERS and they dispatched a repair truck to me. It took 2 hours to arrive (I was told it would). Once the repair guy arrived, the repair only took 1/2 hour.
Per the repair guy, since I drove 8 hours to the campground through the mountins of North Carolina and then backed into the campground site, the hot brake pads stuck to the drum when parked. When I pulled out of the site, the pad released from the drum, but left some residue on the drum. He cleaned the drum and that was that.
It cost me nothing but some time.. Thanks to Good Sam....
If I had the proper equipment like a hydrolick jack, I could have fix't the problem myself. O'well, lesson learned.
