Expensive...or what???

Well, I finally got to my local Montana dealer (south of fort worth) to look at what you guys are so excited about. He in fact had some excellent stuff. The rig that we were most impressed with was the 2980RL. The one we looked at was pretty well equipped, not much else I think we would need. It had the "Moving to Montana, and Value" packages and a bunch of other stuff that added a little over $6K to the $49,286.09 base price, for a grand total of $55,441.09. After talking to the salesman, he allowed as how he could let me have the rig for only $36,461. Now that is a deal, almost $20K off his invoice price..... I was born at night, but fortunately not last night.....what gives with guy, are they all this way.

Page5240,

One price is called Manufacturers Suggested

The other is called, Dealers Price

?????

Anyway, no matter what they are called, it is my understanding this is the way the game is played.

There are some other discussions about this on the forum, try the search engine at the top of this page. (Have not tried that since the new software came on, I am guessing it is functional at this time.)

Read the past threads, and get a feel for what people say you should aim for (discount percentage)

Hope you enjoy the forum and good luck on the purchase!!!

Cheers, Carol (Mrs. Countryguy

Boy, pricing questions are generally difficult to answer. There are so many variables, such as, but not limited to, area of country, supply and demand in the local market, size and reputation of dealership, time of the year etc. Do your homework, check out prices with other area dealers and/or on the various internet sites, plus as County Guy stated research past threads on this web site.

Bottom line I guess is if you love the Monty and it fits into your life style and if YOU feel it is a fair price, then go for it. We are happy with our purchase. We love our new 2980 and are extremely happy with our salesperson and dealership - they are priceless. Good luck in your decision making process.

We met the Montanas at a mobil home and rv show at Notre Dame and they impressed us better than anything else in the show. We really weren't aware of a dealer in close proximity to us so we went to Hart City in Elkhart. Got a price for the 2955RL from them along with our trade, (A year old class "A" 26' Gulfstream)and went home to meditate. Found out there was a Montana dealer about 5 miles from us and went to see them. Everything was the same as at Hart City as far as unit and accessories. The unit was several thousand cheaper here than at Hart City and they gave us a better deal on the motor home.

you might want to check check with bonners lake shore rv they gave me a better price than that on my 2004 3295 rk. Check thier web site they might have some prices, if you don't want to drive that for it still might give you some bargining power. Good luck and we really enjoy our 3295.........

I agree with Vickster, I too have the 2980 and it's worth the cost. I added the generator, slide kit and have both package. All in all it's what you feel you can afford.
