Has anyone installed a rear back up and side camera on a 39 ft 5th wheel montana. Looking to see if wifi used and how they pinched 12 v for cameras.

Pulled off the middle running light at the top of the rear cap.Replaced running light with camera and used the same wiring. Just have to remember to turn the running lights on when backing. Wireless signal works fine to the cab.

What camera system did you use?

I have the Furrion Wireless camera that came installed on mine, never use it. It was wired to constant on, I noticed. I changed that and wired it to the middle running light, so I just need to make sure that the lights are on IF I want to use it.
Must say, I never have a reason to use it at all. I tried backing the camper up with it just to try it out, and it was easier to just do it the way I always did,. head out the window and mirrors. I also had the camera on while driving down I95 before, I mean its nice to see the cars behind me, but I still use the mirrors to make sure the blind spots are clear on either side to change lanes.
So yeah, got it, never use it, and would have to chalk it up to something thats probably not necessary.

After 12 years I finally installed one on my rig. Used the Garmin camera system compatible with my GPS screen. Like others I picked up power off the middle running light. Have not got to use it except to place my 5'er back in storage. Still used my mirrors to back but it was great seeing exactly what was behind me. It voided the blind spots left by the mirrors.
