Is this forum great or what?

I had a close call. I went to my dealer to get new tires Saturday. He was aware of the recall. He informed me that the warehouse was supposed to have returned all the tires in the recall. So I asked him to get me a set. Before I took the rig this morning to have the tires mounted, I decided to go look at the tires first. Guess what? You guessed it. They were on the recall list. So to make things right I will be getting a super deal on Michelin LTXs. They will be put on tomorrow. Thanks to the forum I did not make what could have been a costly mistake.

I had my Commercial T/A's replaced today with Michelin LTX2 M/S. I had taken my tires into Costco two weeks ago on Wednesday and the recall came out on Thursday. They called yesterday to tell me that the new tires were in and today I took them back in for replacement. I can only hope that there isn't a recall on the LTX's any time soon.

If we did not have bad luck we would not have any luck at all!! Got 5 Mich. LTX on at the dealer no cost to me 8am...home by noon. Pulled into the driveway, 1 going flat. Hmmmm... Hearing air going out. Called the dealer bring it back. Took it off myself, easier to take off than haul the rv back there. Screw in tire. What are your chances of getting all new tires and picking up a bolt on the way home? Back to the dealer. Tire fixable with patch inside out. Had them remount the spare to the alum. rim putting all new good tires on the ground. Using the patched tire for the spare. They where not happy to make the change but I feel better about it. Tomorrows a new day!

Got my Michelin LTX M/S Tire replacement from the dealer in Pensacola FL on Friday, but took 1.5 hours as they wouldn't get the tire from their distributor until I showed up. Charged me Sales Tax though. Oh well, I don't mind supporting local Govt and services. Traveled a short distance and Camped at a Square Dance Hall (Water and Electric hookups in a field) there for dancing as we've done many times before, however it was very soggy this time since they've had so much rain. More rain Saturday and Sunday after we arrived and left my dually (but not 4 wheel Drive) truck stuck just beyond the paved parking lot and had to be winched out and had to leave the trailer behind (uphill on more solid/drained ground). I don't think even 4 wheel drive would have made unless it had Off-Road tires as the downhill from the trailer mowed field/yard just turned to mud under the truck weight. May be a few weeks before it dries out enough in the FL panhandle so I can go back and retrieve it!
