Knoxville, IA campgrounds

DW and I are planning a trip to the Knoxville Nationals in Knoxville, IA next August. Has anyone out there stayed at any cg's in the vicinity? It looks like in might be a little sparse.

Thanks,
Jim and Carla

I live 28 miles from the race track and there are a lot of cg's close by but you better reserve as soon as you can the nationals are a big deal around there. There are two cg's in town but most spots are taken well in advance by race fans that go to every race. There is a lake close by with several cg's some core parks, a state park (elk rock state park), and a couple private parks. if you need some help with contact info just ask and I'll be more than glad to help.

Look at the state park around Lake Redrock. Most have electric and water, no sewer. Also, if your not against driving 30 mins or so, check out campgrounds around the Iowa Speedway. There are a few along I80.
