Pink Stuff in Tanks

We are going to have an extended (36 hours) of below freezing temperatures. As low as the teens. It just dawned on this thick brained noob that I can put the pink stuff (rv antifreeze) in my holding tanks. It's 27 now and sleeting so I drained the last vestiges of fluids from my holding tanks. Black tank only had liquids from a few stops on the way back home and one of the holding tanks was 2 LEDs full. Drained them and closed valves and poured at least a half gallon of the pink crap (-50) into all of them. I had already blew out all the water lines and drained the pump and fresh water weeks ago. I just figured this out - pink in tanks - Duh!!

Why. You don’t need to. A little water in your tanks will not hurt them. Put an inch or two of water in a glass and put it in the freezer and see what happens, nothing except the water will freeze. It has a place to expand just like my outdoor faucets. They are frozen now. The water has a place to expand, back through the pipe.

I don't put pink in the tanks....they'll be fine. I do put a 60w bulb by the water pump, don't want it to freeze.

Like the second and third replies ... I just drain the tanks. About the only place I use the pink stuff is in all PTraps and just a bit thru the pump. I use air for the rest.
