Thinking of getting a new hitch.

Anyone know where I can get one of these:

Looks structurally sound (other than the bed and fender bolts), a little sanding, a little painting, a little buffing, and you will be proud to have such a masterpiece as your attachment point!! Why buy new when you can have gently used??

Bingo, I'm thinking that since my bed liner is sprayed on instead of the drop in one in the picture, it would be much stronger too.

Good point! It is good to think these things out and not make rash decisions!

If you mounted one of those you'd be chased around Goshen by the RV hall of fame folks looking for a donation.

I don't get it. Are you guys seeing something wrong? If the head is removed (note only a little pin on the left to remove it) there are no crossmember bed rails (yippee), and with all the wear and tear, it looks like it has been quite the success but I'd like to see what it tows. It also looks like a great way to keep the bedliner from flying out. I think Bingo has the right idea that with a bit o' prep and some paint, it would look even better. If you start with removing all the rust for the prep work, and there's nothing left, then there is a problem. My guess it's rated for about 1,000 lbs, maybe 2,000 lbs. I like that over time and too much movement, the fender supports look like they were added AFTERWARDS to minimize the side-to-side movement that probably occurred when towing.

I see maybe a 7 pen plastic electrical plugin cover at lower left that has no patina like the other parts, possibly the latest addition after the fender well braces that may have reduced sway.

I'd want to see what it's bolted to under that fender well! If it's not somehow tied into the frame then that's a pretty weak mount!
