Lip pert frame flex

Any information on frame flex problems? Was just reading on another forum that many rvs are having issues. We haven't noticed anything amiss but wondering if any members have, what to look for, etc

A search including the archives will turn up several posts on frame flex issues with our Montanas. Cracked panneling in the front closet, cracked panneling on the front living room entertainment centers, closet shelfs pulling away from the walls, sidewall expansion joint under the bedroom slide showing signs of movement, excessive pinbox up and down movenment during towing, pinbox position compared from sitting on the front legs to when hooked up to TV ... on and on

While a number of members have experienced it, it's not the norm.

"Many" is a relative term. There are a "huge" number of Lipert frames out there. So even a very small percentage who may have frame flex issues may sound like "many" from reading postings. But as stated, I think only a very few of the overall owners have been unfortunate to have that problem.

In our situation we found a side panel splintered in the front closet. Keystone had a local dealer remove the underbelly near the pin box and found nothing. I believe they welded in a couple of additional supports. They also pulled the front cap to make sure everything was ok there.
They replaced the panel shortening it slightly from the original so it wasn't so tight to the floor and everything has been ok ever since.
I honesty believe if the panel were put in the same length as original it would splinter again because I see the same amount of flexing as before.

More than likely it is attributed to bad welds which can and does happen from time to time...but yes out or the thousands of trailers a few have that problem.....
