Need to replace shower pan

Hello~
We discovered a 3" tear in our shower pan last week. We've put on a patch kit for now and it's working well, but are seriously considering replacing the entire pan, basically because it seems as if the shower pan tore because the foundation below (Styrofoam, we think)failed and we're concerned that it may happen again. DH is fairly handy, but we've like some feedback from anyone who has any experience with this..............so, anyone ever replace a shower pan in their Monty? Would love some guidance.

Suzanne-- Go to the Search engine at the top of the page and type in "shower pan" you'll see that others have had this problem and what they have done to solve the problem either temporarily or permanently. Keep us informed on what you do.

Thanks, Rondo, however a search as you suggested (that I already did) does not yield any results that address our questions - the other discussions are other issues, not shower pan replacement due to a tear in the pan.

The search engine is kind of clunky in that it searches only recent posts - unless you check the archives box, in which case it searches only those. Make sure you try it both ways.

Also, vary your search terms:
Shower
Shower pan
Cracked Pan

You get the idea, and remember, to get all the results, you have to search twice, once archived and once non-archived.
