On the way to Siskiyou

Well my road trip started Friday. Washed the Monty and headed out for a one night stop over in Frech Camp. On the way to French Camp just 10 min on the road, I thought my vacation was going to end. On the other side of the freeway a medium duty type truck decided to come over the center divider. Small pieces of debis started flying, all in front of me then all i come see was a large chunk of cement flying through the air headed for guess who. I thought i am going to hit this, no way out. Well someone must have been riding shotgun, as the chunk of cement hit the ground right in my lane roll once and stopped. I was able to roll right over it. No damage. I check the rig once I stopped for the evening. No damage at all to TV or Monty.
So now I am in Redding visiting with my parents, who are here with their RV group. Leaving Tuesday and on up to Siskiyou.

I see that you are getting an early front row seat to watch the back-in adventures of our members. I know we enjoy watching and plan to be there early too. Probably not as early as you, but not far behind.

We are happy to hear you dodged the debris. Be careful on your remaining travel.

Be sure to get a good look at Lake Shasta as you pass over. The lack of a dirt ring around the surface is a rare event.

See you in a few days!

Greg,
We are looking forward to seeing everyone again. So sorry to hear of your near disaster on the road. Really glad you escaped any real problems. See you soon.

Glad to see you are safe. We left last Thursday and spent a couple of days in Redding visiting friends and went for a boat ride on a full lake Shasta on Friday. We are now up in Lookout just east of Burney visiting friends until Wednesday when we will head to Siskiyou. We got a little snow late yesterday but it melted off early this morning. See you all at Siskiyou in a few days.

On our trip back to Canada from Medford on Friday we saw four Montana's headed south on I-5. We were in our van but was excited to see those Montanas. Someday we may get to join up and meet you.

Well I am at the lake. Alittle rainy and cool here. Just had a visit from Don Moore. He was checking out the clubhouse and stopped by. Looking forward to some company tomorrow. See you all later.

WOW! That’s scary when you are watching it unfolding right in front of you. That period of time probably seemed like an eternity didn’t it? Glad everything turned out ok. Have a safe trip!

I hope you are enjoying the quiet and solitude Greg. Tomorrow it will change.

P.S. Would you mind raking the pine needles out of my spot in the morning? I like a neat site particularly when someone else is doing the work.

Steve,
We're just about 50 miles south of you. We usually stop at the Rolling Hills Casino just south of Corning. We will probably get a late start out of here since we've only got a little over 100 miles to Siskiyou from here. So guess we'll see you there. Please note the level of the Shasta Lake. We seldom get to see it at that level.

Later,
Dennis
