3455SA ON ORDER
Well, today was the big day...we ordered our new 3455SA from Walnut Ridge RV in Indiana. We are planning to make the trip to pick it up in mid April. I have calculated the round trip to be less than what would be charged for delivery to my state. It has been a long wait but well worth it and it gave us plenty of time to do our homework making sure we got exactly what we wanted. Walnut Ridge gave us the best deal right from the very first phone call and with no smoke and mirrors. The local dealers around here didn't believe the price we were able to get. In fact, I had one local dealer tell me "if this price is for real then you should buy two of them". I can't believe in these economic times the locals weren't more eager and willing to deal to gain my business. Too bad....their loss I suppose. I apologize for not thanking up2nogood and KTManiac for recommending Walnut Ridge RV to us in my first posting of this message. I'll have to admit, I was a little skeptical at first, but so far this has been a very pleasurable transaction. Thanks again.
r,
Jack

We looked very hard at the 3455 at the Tampa show. We liked that model enough to talk deal, but we will hang on to our 3280 for a couple more years. Very neat layout and very eye appealing and got a great deal here in Fla., they wanted to sell too.
We have also talked to your dealer in the past and was happy with their customer service, having a camp ground at their dealership for you to stay and iron out any bugs is a plus!
You picked a good looking model and I'm sure you'll be happy with it, congrats!!!!!!

Well congrats on the new unit, I hope the factory stays up and running so they can fill your order as planned. You got me wondering, maybe I should call your dealership in IN. and see if I can get a better deal there ??

Congratulations!
I'm with you on picking it up. If I had to do it over again, I think I would pick mine up, even if I calculated it would cost me more that transport. For one, I would enjoy the trip, and two, I wouldn't be inclined to drag it through 3 states covered in magnesium chloride in the middle of winter.

We went through the exact same process when we ordered our 3605RL last October. The '08 that we initially looked at locally is still sitting on their lot, ...since January of '08. That's over a year it has been sitting there on the lot (it has probably been to at least three RV shows as well), getting tromped around in and generally messed up. All of the non-locking latches on the cargo doors no longer turn (I didn't bother trying my 751 key on the locking ones), The axles, lug nuts, and gas line to the kitchen slide are all rusty. I just don't understand that business model.
I could have ordered an '09 with the options that I wanted from the local guys, ....for only $5k more than what I wound up paying for the exact same '09 we got at Walnut Ridge. It was a no-brainer decision to take a vacation out to Indiana and pick it up!
Just another "Thanks!" to MOC member up2nogood for recommending Walnut Ridge RV to me.

If you want to give them a call, here is their number: (800) 607-8827 and I dealt with Shane. No pressure to sell just a good, no, great price right from the start. He told me yesterday the last Montana they ordered from the factory took about 4 weeks to arrive.

Are they also a Big Sky dealer? We are going to decide in the next four weeks if we want to buy this year or wait.
