Help - How To Remove MaxxFan Fan Blade

Hey All,

I am in the process of clean the MaxxFan exhaust fan in the bathroom and found that is nearly impossible to clean the fan blade without removing it. I purchased the 2016 3160RL brand new so I figure the fan blade has never been removed. I removed the 3/32" allen set screw that appears at the bottom of motor shaft. I have applied a little downward pressure and the fan blade will not budge. I don't want to apply to much downward pressure because I am afraid that I will break the motor support bracket. I am stalled in my cleaning. Please help - thank you in advance.

My fans are older, so maybe there is more to it now. I loosened the set-screw like you, and although tight, was able to work it off with the help of a little WD40.

I'm not sure you can remove it. On their website they say you can't completely clean the fan without going on the roof.

If you can get the screen out(without breaking it) you could use some clorox wipes to clean it in place.

This is what I did, but I went up on the roof and did it from there.

I was afraid I'd break the screen trying to remove it.
